Dance Works! - $300 - D’Antono Dance Studio, Pine Island
This will be a 1 hour class held at D’Antono Dance Studio in Pine Island, NY. This class will focus on teaching popular line dances that are done at weddings and special occasions (like the Thunderbolts Halloween party) as well as popular TikTok moves. Participants will have an opportunity to learn several dances while increasing their strength, balance and flexibility through conditioning and stretching exercises. Each class will be co-taught by a D’Antono Dance Studio instructor and a Dignity Works Here, Inc. instructor who will facilitate social communication, individualized instruction and encourage the participation of all enrollees.
This 1 hour class will be held at Bethany Retreat Center in Highland Mills, NY. It will be a fitness experience that incorporates the elements of martial arts. Participants will have the opportunity to learn basic martial art techniques while improving their cardiovascular endurance, strength, balance and flexibility. Fitness Ninja will be taught by an instructor who has trained in the martial arts for 15+ years and holds a black belt in traditional karate. A Dignity Works Here, Inc. instructor will co-teach each class to facilitate social communication, individualized instruction, modification of activities, overall support of participants to grow confidence and be successful.
Hola! Intro. to Spanish
This will be a 1 hour class held at Bethany Retreat Center in Highland Mills, NY. It will introduce participants to elements of the Spanish language. In this 8 week class, participants will be learn greetings, numbers, colors and some elements of the Spanish culture. All concepts will be taught using a multi-sensory approach with a variety of hands-on activities. This class will be co-taught by a native Spanish speaker who has extensive background working with unique learners and a Dignity Works Here, Inc. instructor.
Animal Art and Basic Photography
This will be a 90 minute class held at the Bethany Retreat Center in Highland Mill, NY. Artists will be encouraged to explore a variety of art mediums (pencil, markers, canvas, and paint ) to draw these animals. Step-by-Step instructions will be provided and participants will be encouraged to express their own artistic interpretation of the animals. Interesting facts about animals will be shared and there will be the opportunity to participate in trivia games about the animals. There will be a focus on the basic elements of photography. Participants will learn how to compose photographs of their art works. Every student will create photo note cards of their art. This class will be co-taught by a Dignity Works Here, Inc. instructor and Animal Art Instructors who have a background in art and music education.
